Express trade Tremblay to Hawkesbury
The Coquitlam Express has traded 2002-born forward Jérémy Tremblay to the Hawkesbury Hawks of the Central Canada Hockey League for future considerations.
In four games with the Express this season, the Orford, QC product had one assist. He committed to Coquitlam from Stanstead College Varsity this past February.
Vees defenseman Arnott commits to Maine
2001-born defenseman Grayson Arnott of the Penticton Vees has committed to the University of Maine for next season.
Arnott, who hails from Toronto, ON, has four goals and 14 points with the Vees between this season and 2020-21. He is the 13th Penticton player from this season’s roster to nab an NCAA commitment.
Cameron earns Provincial Premier Award Winner In Indigenous Youth Sport
Prince George Spruce Kings defenseman Colton Cameron is one of 10 athletes named a recipient of the Provincial Premier Award for Indigenous Youth Excellence in Sport.
Cameron, a 2002-born defenseman who is a member of the Metis Nation BC, is into his third BCHL season in 2021-22. He has a goal and 17 assists with the Spruce Kings since 2019.
Eddy commits to Northern Michigan University
Victoria Grizzlies hometown forward Connor Eddy has committed to Northern Michigan University and is the ninth member of this year’s Grizzlies roster to secure an NCAA college commitment.
The 2002-born centre has four goals and 14 points in seven games with the Grizz this season. Overall, Eddy has 16 goals and 37 points in 72 career BCHL games.
MacDonald, Jeffrey, and Johnson earn BCHL stars
Vernon Vipers forward Cameron MacDonald, Cowichan Valley Capitals forward Adam Jeffery, and Cranbrook Bucks forward Johnny Johnson are the BCHL three stars of the week for the games ending Oct. 24.
MacDonald, 19, had five points (three goals, two assists) in a pair of games to power the Vipers to two straight wins at the BCHL Showcase.
20-year-old Jeffery is the Caps goal scoring leader after a strong week with four goals in two games. He has 14 points in five games this season.
Johnson, 20, had three goals and an assist in two games against Powell River and Cowichan Valley as the Bucks earned a split in two games at the BCHL Showcase.
Speranza heads to the Eagles for 2022-23
2004-born forward Matteo Speranza has committed to the Surrey Eagles for the 2022-23 BC Hockey League season.
The product of Langley, BC is skating with the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds U18 this season and has seven goals and a dozen points in 10 games thus far.
Vees bring in Kremp and McDonald-Corea as affiliate players
The Penticton Vees have signed 2002-born forward Kaleb Kremp and 2003-born defenseman Payton McDonald-Corea as affiliate players for the 2021-22 season. Both players are members of the Osoyoos Coyotes of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
In eight games with the Coyotes this season, Kremp has 13 points. He hails from Innisfail, AB. McDonald-Corea has nine points in eight games with Osoyoos. He is a veteran of 41 career games in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with Olds.
Merritt signs in Grande Prairie
2003-born forward Jaydon Merritt (one goal, two assists in 13 games with Alberni Valley in 2020-21) has signed with the Grande Prairie Storm of the AJHL.
Merritt, who’s from Prince George, BC, had 22 points in 12 games with the Port Alberni Bombers of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League this season.
Zech joins Lehigh Valley Phantoms
Defenseman Cooper Zech (11 goals, 58 assists in 58 games with Wenatchee in 2017-18) was reassigned by the Philadelphia Flyers to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League on Monday.
Zech hails from South Lyon, MI, and had a goal and six assists in 21 games with Providence of the AHL in 2020-21. He also added 10 points in 15 games on loan to Slovakian club HK Nitra to start the season.
