Spruce Kings bring in Skogstad for 2022-23

The Prince George Spruce Kings announced the commitment of 2005-born forward Brayden Skogstad for the 2022-23 BC Hockey League season.
The Kelowna, BC product is playing with Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna U18 of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League this season. In four games, he has a goal and six assists.
Cents put Mofford on injured reserve
The Merritt Centennials have placed 2001-born forward Deegan Mofford on injured reserve, retroactive to Oct. 15. The Rocky Mountain House, AB product played the Cents’ first two games of the season.
He had an assist in their 8-1 loss to Prince George on Oct. 9. Mofford is eligible to return to Merritt’s line-up on Nov. 15. The Centennials’ first game after that date is Nov. 17 in Penticton.

Victoria Grizzlies forward Matthew Wood, Victoria forward Connor Eddy, and Langley Rivermen forward Tyler Schleppe are the BCHL three stars of the week for the games ending Oct. 17.
Wood, 16, had eight points (five goals, three assists) in three games to power the Grizzlies to three straight wins and a 5-0 record on the season.
19-year-old Eddy is the BCHL’s scoring leader after a monster week with eight points (three goals, five assists) in a trio of games. He has 14 points in five games this season.
Schleppe, who turns 20 on Remembrance Day, had five goals in two games against Chilliwack and Surrey as the Rivermen earned three of a possible four points during the week.

Forward Todd Skirving (eight goals, nine assists in 49 games with Vernon and Prince George in 2010-11) was named an alternate captain for the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL for 2021-22 on Monday
He spent last season as an assistant coach for the Cranbrook Bucks. Skirving, 29, last played during 2019-20, putting up 12 points in 37 games with the Growlers before they went on hiatus in 2020-21 due to COVID-19.
