Projecting 2022 BCHL Showcase matchups

The BC Hockey League released its full schedule on June 9. One of the league’s annual traditions is the five-day BCHL Showcase which gives NCAA, U SPORTS, Western Hockey League, and National Hockey League scouts an opportunity to watch all 18 BCHL teams in one place for recruiting.

The location of this year’s BCHL Showcase has yet to be announced but Chilliwack has hosted every single year, and 2020 was split between Chilliwack and Penticton.

Speculation is that it will remain in Chilliwack this coming year. The date has also yet to be determined for the BCHL Showcase, but based on the schedule, my projection is for it to be Sept. 14-18.

After examining the 2022-23 BCHL schedule, I found that every Coastal Conference team doesn’t play one Interior Conference team in the 52 games that have been released thus far.

Here are my projected two games each team will play. For the second game, I am going with matching teams via standings from last season. For example, the two bottom teams in the standings will play each other in their second game of the Showcase.

These are my projections as determined from the BCHL schedule as well as what the second game will be for each team at the BCHL Showcase. The event does a great job with cross-conference matchups across all five days. These matchups keep that across both games.
