The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 9:19 of the first period on a goal from forward Caige Sterzer. The Kings took a 2-1 lead into the second period after goals from forwards Rowan Miller and Brett Roloson.
The Kings came out firing in the second period with goals from Jacob Badal, Levi Glasman and Jack Brackett to make the score 5-1 for the visitors. A goal from Dawson Tritt before the end of the second period made the score marginally more respectable for the Bulldogs.
A power play goal from Josh Zary followed by Tritt’s second goal at even strength would pull the Bulldogs within a goal and it was 5-4 Powell River. Badal extended the Kings lead to a two goal cushion with his second of the night. The Bulldogs pulled to within one goal on Zary’s second power play marker, but it was too little too late because the Kings went on to win 6-5.
The Bulldogs next game is Friday in Salmon Arm.
