Bulldogs shift Wruck back to the Steinbach Pistons of the MJHL

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs have traded 2002-born defenseman Eduard Wruck to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Steinbach Pistons.

The transaction completes the future considerations from the Feb. 24 deal which saw Wruck loaned to the Bulldogs for the 2020-21 BCHL pod season.

Wruck got into four games with Alberni Valley during the pod season but didn’t register any points. He played five games with the Pistons to start 2020-21 and the North Vancouverite posted a pair of assists in Steinbach’s 8-0 blowout win against Winnipeg on Oct. 10.

He spent the previous two seasons with the Vancouver Northwest Hawks of the BC U18 AAA League. In 52 games with the NW Hawks, Wruck had nine goals and 18 points.

Brian's been involved in the BCHL in a variety of capacities for 17 years. From 2002 to 2012, he served in several roles around the Merritt Centennials organization, including as team president, board member, beat writer, colour commentator, webmaster, media and communications coordinator and marketing assistant. He's been writing about the BCHL since 2008 and served as colour commentator on the TSN 1040 broadcasts in 2012-13. BCHLNetwork is one of Brian's many passion projects that he balances around his full-time job as an instructor in the Radio Arts and Entertainment Program at BCIT in Burnaby.
