Wild adds Karpa to its blueline

The Wenatchee Wild have signed 2002-born defenseman Jakob Karpa for the upcoming BC Hockey League season. The product of Newport Beach, CA played 29 games during the 2020-21 season with the Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League.

Karpa’s dad David played 557 games in the National Hockey League with Anaheim, Carolina, and the New York Rangers over the course of a dozen seasons.

McIlmurray signs with ECHL’s Florida Everblades

Coral Springs, FL product and forward Austin McIlmurray (27 goals, 34 assists in 57 games with Coquitlam in 2015-16) has signed with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL for 2021-22.

McIlmurray, 24, had six goals and 10 points in 22 games with the Wichita Thunder this past season before being released on Apr. 23.

O’Donnell goes to Dusseldorf of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga

29-year-old forward Brendan O’Donnell (29 goals, 43 assists in 58 games with Penticton in 2010-11) signed a contract for 2021-22 with Düsseldorfer EG of the Deutsch Eishockey Liga.

The Winnipeg, MB native posted 22 goals and 41 points in 47 games with HC Slovan Bratislava of Slovakia’s Tipos Extraliga this past season.
