BCHL unveils interactive NCAA map

The BC Hockey League launched a new feature on its website that includes an interactive map of all NCAA Division I schools.
Included in the data are current NCAA players who are BCHL alumni, current BCHL players committed to NCAA schools, and notable BCHL alumni for each school.
The map also features information about each of the school’s men’s hockey programs. A link to the map is here.
Major junior veteran Hutcheson joins the Clippers

The Nanaimo Clippers announced the acquisition of 2000-born forward Nolan Hutcheson on Tuesday. Nanaimo got him from the Wellington Dukes of the Ontario Junior Hockey League for the junior AÂ rights to 2001-born goaltender Matthew Dunsmoor, who is with Gatineau in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Hutcheson is a three-year Ontario Hockey League veteran, putting up 47 goals and 42 assists in 183 games with the Sudbury Wolves.
The product of Gananoque, Ontario committed to Wellington last month. He didn’t get into any games with the Dukes because the OJHL hasn’t played yet this season due to the pandemic.
According to the Clippers news release announcing his signing, Hutcheson is committed to play U SPORTS at Queen’s University this fall.

The Trail Smoke Eaters announced the addition of 2003-born forward Brendan Ross for the 2021-22 BCHL season.
Ross, who’s from Calgary, had four goals and three assists in six games for his hometown U18 AAA Buffaloes in the Alberta Elite Hockey League this season.
Bandu heads to Northern Michigan University

Victoria Grizzlies defenseman Isack Bandu has committed to Northern Michigan University to play NCAA Division I hockey. It’s unknown if the commitment is for this fall or September 2022.
The 2001-born blueliner had three goals and seven assists in 15 games with the Grizzlies during the BCHL training season.
The Notre-Dame-de-l’ÃŽle-Perrot, Quebec native had a goal and 11 assists in 52 games as a rookie with Victoria during the 2019-20 season.

2003-born defenseman Hunter Brown (one assist in two games with Merritt during the 2020-21 training season) has committed to the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for 2021-22.
After starting training camp with the Centennials, he was released in late October. Brown had 16 goals and 14 assists in 39 games with the Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA in 2019-20.
Coughlin inks ECHL deal with Fort Wayne
The Komets have signed defenseman Johnny Coughlin. Travis Howe and Nolan LaPorte also official now. Mason Bergh now out of the mix.

Defenseman Johnny Coughlin (three goals, 15 assists in 55 games with Vernon in 2014-15) has signed a professional try-out with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL.
Coughlin, a 25-year-old from Fairport, New York, split the 2019-20 season with the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals and Cincinnati Cyclones. He finished with 19 points in 56 games.

2000-born forward Harrison Scott (15 goals, 13 assists in 48 games with Wenatchee in 2019-20) has committed to Division I Bentley University for this September.
Scott, a native of San Jose, California, has six goals and eight assists in 20 games with the Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League this season.
