BCHL Today: Sombrowski and Scouras score first goals, and more!

 

Sombrowski nets first career BCHL goal

2001-born Cranbrook Bucks forward Nikolas Sombrowski scored his first BCHL goal at 4:47 of the second period in a 3-2 loss to the Penticton Vees on Saturday.

Sombrowski’s marker tied the game at one after the Vees scored 35 seconds prior. The Fernie, BC product notched his second goal at 9:12 of the middle frame. It was his 10th BCHL game.

Scouras posts first career BCHL goal

2002-born Cowichan Valley forward Alec Scouras potted his first BCHL goal on Saturday in a 4-3 overtime win against Alberni Valley.

The goal was the Caps’ first of the night, 2:52 into the first period, and came in Hewlett’s 10th career BCHL game. He played two games as an affiliate with West Kelowna in addition to eight games with Cowichan this season.

Three Stars of the Night ⭐⭐⭐

First Star: Victoria forward Henri Schreifels scored two goals and added an assist in a 6-1 drubbing of Nanaimo.

Second Star: Salmon Arm forward Simon Tassy put up two goals and an assist as the Silverbacks fell 7-5 to Vernon.

Third Star: Cowichan Valley netminder Lucas Pfeil stopped 34 shots in a 4-3 overtime win against Alberni Valley.

Honourable Mentions: Grizzlies rookie forward Ellis Rickwood posted a goal and two assists. Cowichan Valley forward Colby Feist, Prince George forward Kolton Cousins, Vernon forward Reagan Milburn, and Cranbrook forward Nikolas Sombrowski each notched a pair of goals.
