Vees forward Lakoduk commits to AIC for 2021-22

Forward Darwin Lakoduk is the 15th member of the Penticton Vees roster to commit to a post-secondary institution to play hockey. Lakoduk is set to attend American International College in Sept. 2021. He has nine goals and 11 assists in 50 games this season split between the Victoria Grizzlies and the Vees, who acquired him on Nov. 12 for forward Vincent Nardone.
Clippers defenceman Visram wins January’s BCHL Community Hero Award

Nanaimo Clippers first year defenceman Liam Visram was named the winner of January’s BCHL Community Hero Award. A Type 1 diabetic himself, Visram was recognized for inspiring kids in the Nanaimo area who are also dealing with life with diabetes.

The Cranbrook Bucks, who begin play in the BCHL this fall, are being featured by 107.5 2Day FM in Cranbrook. The Bucks are yet to hire a head coach or general manager, but in part 2 of the feature, president Nathan Lieuwen is looking to have those positions filled by the end of the 2019-20 season.

Defenceman Brandon Manning (seven goals, 19 assists in 58 games with Prince George in 2007-08) has been suspended for five games by the AHL after using a racial slur toward an opponent in a game on Monday night.

The Nashville Predators assigned forward Colton Sissons (six goals, 16 assists in 58 games with West Kelowna in 2009-10) to Milwaukee of the AHL on a conditioning assignment. Sissons is recovering from an undisclosed lower body injury.
Former Surrey defenceman Miley signs in the MHL

Defenceman Ryan Miley (one goal, four assists in 43 games with Surrey in 2018-19) has signed with the Summerside Western Capitals of the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The 19-year-old hasn’t skated with a registered team so far this season.
