Rivermen defenceman Scoville suspended four games

Langley Rivermen defenceman Brian Scoville has been suspended four games by the BCHL due to a major penalty and game misconduct for checking from behind in Friday’s game against Nanaimo. Scoville, a second year player for the Rivermen, has three goals and 16 assists in 40 games this season.

He sat out Langley’s game on Saturday in Port Alberni and Sunday in Powell River. Scoville is eligible to return to the Rivermen lineup on Feb. 4 at home against Salmon Arm.

Vees alum Zerter-Gossage recalled to AHL Hartford

Forward Lewis Zerter-Gossage (18 goals, 28 assists in 57 games with Penticton in 2014-15) has been recalled to the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack from the Maine Mariners of the ECHL. The 24-year-old has two goals and one assist in 23 games with the Wolf Pack this season. He’s added a goal and three assists in eight ECHL games with the Mariners.

Forward Myles Fitzgerald (89 goals, 130 assists in 238 games with Nanaimo, Prince George and Victoria from 2009-14) has signed for the rest of the 2019-20 season with the Bietigheim Steelers of the DEL2, which is the second tier hockey league in Germany. Fitzgerald posted three goals and three assists in five games during his try-out with the Steelers. He also had two goals and three assists in an earlier five game try-out with the DEL2’s Ravensburg Towerstars. Fitzgerald started the season with Ferencvárosi TC of the Erste Liga, scoring 13 goals and seven assists in 17 games.

Former Express forward Rockwood sent back to ECHL Greenville

Forward Adam Rockwood (19 goals, 81 assists in 107 games with Coquitlam from 2012-14) has been reassigned from the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL. Rockwood has two assists in four games with Springfield this season. He’s also added eight goals and 21 assists in 41 games with Greenville.

Former Penticton/Vernon forward Dancs suspended by Rapid City

Forward Dexter Dancs (32 goals, 57 assists in 119 games with Penticton and Vernon from 2011-14) has been suspended by the Rapid City Rush. He’s played 36 games with the ECHL club this season, tallying five goals and 10 assists.

First Star: Salmon Arm netminder Grant Adams kicked out 42 shots.

Second Star: Powell River goaltender Thomas Wardle made 26 saves for the shutout.

Third Star: Silverbacks forward Coalson Wolford had a goal and an assist.

Honourable Mentions: Surrey forward Brandon Santa Juana and Powell River forwards Levi Glasman and Brett Roloson each scored a goal and an assist.
